Shaping Minds & Building Futures

Seven years ago today, I stepped back into the classroom as a university professor, teaching COM 212 Digital Storytelling. Fast forward to today, and I’m leading ART 397 Special Topics in Art & Design, focusing on AI, AR, and VR. To give my students a sense of how far we’ve come, we started by exploring the ZX Spectrum and programming in BASIC—a nostalgic nod to the roots of personal computing—then dove into the immersive possibilities of the Meta Quest 3.

It’s incredible to reflect on the evolution of technology, education, and creative potential over these years. Here’s to continuing to inspire and be inspired by the next generation of creators and innovators!
